Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov took part in ceremony of laying the Karakut-project small-sized missile ship at the More plant in Crimea in course of his working visit.

The ship was named as Okhotsk. Storm, another similar ship, is being built at the plant.
Displacement of the Karakut-project small-sized missile ship will be about 800 tons. The speed of the ships will reach more than 30 knots.

The ships will be armed with high-precision missile complex and modern artillery systems. They will be high-maneuverable.

They will be capable to carry out tasks in the far water zone at the distance from the base about 3,000 miles.

“Armament of the ships is serious. The ships will be fitted with the Kalibr missile complex. The complex proved its effectiveness during the Syrian conflict,” said Yuri Borisov.
