Despite the situation, shipbuilding lives on!

In the snow, rain and pandemic, the Leningrad shipyard Pella does not stop its work. Nobody has canceled work on orders, no one has broken contracts, has not adjusted the deadlines, which means that we must fulfill our obligations to the state.

Therefore, as it was planned in advance, shipbuilders of the Pella LSZ held a solemn ceremony of launching at once two high-speed patrol boats of Project 03160 Raptor.

However, given the situation, this was done behind closed doors. The main thing is that the representative of the state customer was Rear Admiral Vladimir Tryapniknikov , the head of the shipbuilding department of the Russian Navy .

Let's say a few words about what kind of "Raptor" these are.

Project 03160 Raptor patrol boats are high-speed "kids" with a length of about 17 meters and a displacement of 23 tons , flying along coastal waters at a speed of up to 48 knots . Moreover, even at a wave of 4.5 meters, they manage to keep a speed of 20 knots. On board, they have two CAT C18 ACERT engines with an output of 1,150 hp. and two more water cannons Rolls-Royce Kamewa 36A3 HS.

They are armed with the Uprava-Kord combat module (a 14.5 mm machine gun, a gyrostabilized optoelectronic module and a fire control system), as well as two 7.62 mm Pecheneg machine guns.

The parent Raptor was built by Pella for the Russian Navy in 2013.
