receive 24 of the Kiowa Warrior helicopters being divested by the US Army.

Tunisia has
begun receiving the surplus-US Army Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior scout and light
attack helicopters it ordered in 2016, the AFP reported on 4 February.
Six of the 24
helicopters approved by the US government in May 2016 have now arrived in the
North African country for counter-terrorism operations, with the remaining 18
scheduled to be delivered by the end of March.
The sale, which
was announced by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 3 May
2016 covers 24 helicopters via the Excess Defense Articles (EDA) programme;
Lockheed Martin AGM-114R Hellfire air-to-surface missiles; BAE Systems Advanced
Precision Kill Weapon Systems (APKWS); Dillon M134D 7.62 mm Gatling guns; FN
Herstal M3P 12.7 mm machine guns; and M260 70 mm rocket launchers.
