Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will manufacture additional Hellfire air-to-ground missile systems for the U.S. Army under a $702.9M contract modification.

The military service obligated $702.7M at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Wednesday. DoD expects work to conclude by Sept. 30, 2023.

Hellfire guided missiles use semi-active laser technology and operate with multiple aircraft platforms such as the AH-64 Apache helicopter and the MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aerial system.

The company received a $723.5M modification last year to provide Hellfire II variants to domestic and foreign military sales customers.
