The first deliveries of S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to India will take place in October-December 2021, Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport , told Interfax on Thursday.
He specified that the training of specialists from India is ongoing. In addition, he stressed that "everything is going according to schedule."
In October 2018, Russia and India signed a contract for the supply of S-400 systems. It was noted that five regiments of the latest air defense systems will cost New Delhi $ 5.43 billion (more than 3 trillion rubles). This deal was named the largest in the history of Rosoboronexport.
In February 2020, Russia began production of the S-400 for India.
In April 2021, Valeria Reshetnikova , press secretary of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of the Russian Federation, said that Russia continues to receive applications from other states for the purchase of this complex.
The S-400 Triumph is a Russian long- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile system. It is designed to destroy all modern and advanced aerospace attack weapons. It is produced by the largest concern of the Russian military-industrial complex - the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan region.
In addition to India, Turkey and China have signed contracts for the supply of S-400s . At the same time, in December 2020, the US State Department recognized the Russian S-400s in Turkey as a threat to the American military.
