On May 4, JS MASYUU conducted multi-lateral training in the waters around Okinawa with FS SURCOUF.
Commander of MASYUU, CAPT TAKEMOTO Kotaro stated, “French Navy ship maneuvering skills are very high, and I felt very reassured as a fellow engaged in missions at sea having the same will. Taking all possible countermeasures for COVID-19, we conducted the training by making the best use of the flexibility and mobility that are the characteristics of the Navy, enhanced our tactical skills and the cooperative relationship between JMSDF and French Navy.”
Despite COVID-19, the Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and integrates with the French Navy in order to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, and contributes to supporting stability around the region.
