MOSCOW, May 7. / TASS /. Nuclear submarine missile cruiser "Kazan" (project "Yasen-M") was accepted into the Russian Navy. This was reported to reporters on Friday at the RF Ministry of Defense.
The ceremony of accepting the cruiser into the Navy took place at the Sevmash enterprise in Severodvinsk under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. On the submarine's flagpole, the Andreevsky flag was raised, which the commander-in-chief handed over to the commander of the Kazan agro-industrial complex, Captain 1st Rank Alexander Beketov, in a solemn ceremony.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Navy expressed confidence that the Kazan crew would strengthen the country's defense capability with high quality and dignity.
The lead submarine of project 885M ("Ash-M") "Kazan" was launched on March 31, 2017. September 25, 2018 entered the factory sea trials. The main strike weapons of Project 885 / 885M submarines are cruise missiles "Onyx", "Caliber", and in the future - hypersonic "Zircons".
