The Russian Navy’s Project 11356 class frigate Admiral Grigorovich has left the Mediterranean Sea and is heading towards the Indian Ocean, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet announced today.

“Frigate Admiral Grigorovich together with the rescue tugboat Professor Nikolai Muru began the Suez Canal Southbound transit. The crews of the frigate and the rescue ship of the Black Sea Fleet proceeding to the Indian Ocean to show the flag of the Russian Federation, ”the press office said.

The lead ship of project 11356 “Admiral Grigorovich” has a speed of up to 30 knots, has a displacement of about four thousand tons, and endurance is 30 days. The main weapon of the frigate is the Kalibr-NK missile system, which is capable of hitting naval targets at a distance of up to 400 kilometers, and land targets – up to 2,000 kilometers.
