The Russian state corporation Rostec has published on social networks the first photo of a promising fighter that will be presented at the MAKS-2021 international aerospace show. The picture shows the plane, covered with a cover, filmed from afar. According to the Russian media, as expected, Rostec will show the first Russian single-engine fighter at MAKS-2021. Earlier, the state corporation announced the demonstration of "a fundamentally new military aircraft."
As reported, "a fundamentally new military aircraft" will be presented by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) on the first day of the opening of the air show - July 20. In addition, for those who cannot visit the exhibition in person, the aircraft presentation will be shown on the YouTube channels of Rostec and UAC. The International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021 will be held from 20 to 25 July in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region.
So far, there is no information about the new aircraft, but earlier there were data on the development of a light tactical fighter with low visibility and supersonic speed. The work, according to sources, since there were no official statements, was carried out by specialists from the Sukhoi Design Bureau.
Note that the Russian Aerospace Forces currently have only twin-engine aircraft, the last single-engine - MiG-23, MiG-27 and Su-17M - were removed from service in the early nineties of the last century.
