Moscow. July 8. INTERFAX-AVN - A pair of Su-24 aircraft performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic, without violating the borders of other states, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

      "On July 8, 2021, two Su-24 aircraft of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation performed a planned training flight in airspace over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea," it was reported.

     "The flight was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace, without violating the borders of other states," the press release says.

     So the Russian Defense Ministry commented on the information that appeared in the media about the escort of Russian aircraft by foreign fighters over the Baltic Sea.

     Earlier, foreign media reported that a press conference of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, held on July 8 at a NATO base in the Baltic Republic, Lithuania, was interrupted due to the urgent departure of two North Atlantic Alliance aircraft to intercept a Russian aircraft.
