It also states that Checkmate was created in record time and is ready for testing. It is noted that the fighter has the ability to perform a long supersonic flight.

The head of the UAC, Yuri Slyusar, told reporters that the new Checkmate light fighter will be able to carry all the weapons of the Su-57.

"Intra-body placement, and we say that here are the largest compartments for aircraft of this type, allows you to place the entire range of aviation weapons that are used on the fifth generation Su-57 aircraft," Slyusar said at the presentation of the aircraft at MAKS-2021.

Checkmate "combines innovative solutions and technologies, including artificial intelligence support for the pilot, as well as proven solutions that have already proven themselves in practice," Rostec said.

The first flight of the fighter is expected in 2023, "2024-2025 - the construction of prototypes, 2026 - the launch of the pilot batch," the presentation notes.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the new Checkmate fighter will be maximally unified with the Su-57 and Su-35 aircraft.

Earlier, the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, said that the Checkmate fighter, which was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, will cost $ 25-30 million .

On Tuesday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the new Russian Checkmate fighter is targeted at the African, Vietnamese and Indian markets, the demand for it is estimated at 300 aircraft.
