A feature of the Epoch combat module is the presence of an automated search system, recognition of enemy targets, their tracking and preparation and issuance of proposals to the combat vehicle crew for the simultaneous or alternate use of two channels of fire destruction.
In addition, as told in the Russian military department, 12 divisions of modernized self-propelled howitzers "Msta-S" provide fire support to the defending units. "At the same time, more than 140 guns of 152-mm advanced self-propelled howitzers of a new generation with concentrated and barrage fire ensured the destruction of artillery and mortar batteries, tanks and manpower of a mock enemy," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Howitzers "Msta-S" are equipped with fire guidance equipment, which provides automatic aimless guidance and storage of information for at least 10 fire missions. The howitzer is capable of firing high-explosive fragmentation, active-rocket projectiles - jammers, high-precision guided ammunition "Krasnopol".
Exercises "West-2021"
Strategic exercises of the armed forces of Russia and Belarus are held every two years. West 2021 is the final stage of joint training of the armed forces of the two countries this year. Practical actions of troops (forces) take place from 10 to 16 September 2021 at nine training grounds located on the territory of the Russian Federation, in the waters of the Baltic Sea, as well as at five training grounds of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
In total, the exercises involved up to 200 thousand personnel, about 80 aircraft and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, including 290 tanks, 240 guns, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, as well as up to 15 ships.
The maximum number of personnel of military units involved in exercises that fall under the Vienna Document 2011 on the territory of the Russian Federation does not exceed 6,400 servicemen. The return of military command and control bodies and troops to their permanent deployment points after participation in the exercises is planned until mid-October.
