Ilyas Shigapov, head of the Shipbuilding Directorate of the Main Command of the Russian Navy, announced this on Friday at the ceremonial launching of the ship at the Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M.
"The small rocket ship" Grad "is intended for the Baltic Fleet. This is the 10th ship. Nine ships are already in service. They have proven their high efficiency, their weapons, in general seaworthiness when performing special missions, combat missions in the Syrian Arab Republic," he said Shigapov.
According to him, the delivery of the ship is scheduled for next year. "At the end of next year, it will enter the Navy, the Baltic Fleet," Shigapov said.
Small missile ships of Project 21631 (developed by Zelenodolsk Design Bureau) are multipurpose ships of the "river - sea" class, equipped with modern weapons. The purpose of the ships of this project is to guard and protect the economic zone of the state. The ships of this project have been built at the A.M. Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard since 2010.
