MOSCOW, ($1= 74.08 Russian Rubles) – Russia has warned Britain through its ambassador in London and said the consequences for the British would be greater if their ship again violated Russian territorial waters, BulgarianMilitary.com has learned, quoting Vzglyad. “If a British ship invades Russia’s territorial waters again, the British authorities will find themselves in a much more difficult situation than in the first incident,” said Russian Ambassador to London Andrei Kelin.
He recalled that the destroyer Defender “entered Russian waters without notice, which must be at least an hour in advance.” The British ship “did not comply with Russian laws and regulations, which it was obliged to comply with under the Maritime Convention.”
Kelin emphasized that this was not a peaceful “passage, as the UK government claims”. London wanted to hold a “demonstration that these are Ukrainian waters, which is completely untrue,” TASS reported, citing the BBC.
“We did not say we could open fire on it, but next time they will be in a much more difficult position, as this will not be the first time a British ship has done so,” the ambassador said.
Kelin also said that Russia had sent 54 notes to the British Foreign Office on the case of the poisoning of Sergei and Julia Skripal in Salisbury, hoping to “get at least some information.” “But we still don’t know anything,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
On June 23, the Black Sea Fleet, along with Russia’s FSB border service, stopped a violation of Russia’s state border by a British destroyer, with warning shots and bombings to be carried out. The Ministry of Defense accused the destroyer’s command of dangerous actions and gross violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and requested an investigation into the actions of the ship’s crew.

The employee who lost the secret documents, found later at a bus stop in the English county of Kent, is Angus Lapsley. At the time of the incident, he was only claiming the position of Britain’s ambassador to NATO.
It is noted that after the incident Lapsley was temporarily transferred from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. No final decision has been made on Lapsley’s punishment, which has disappointed some security officials and government officials.
According to some experts, the most likely punishment that will be faced by the civil servant will be the further suspension of his access to classified materials, which will probably last for months.
“The person concerned has been removed from secret work and his access to classified information has already been suspended pending a final decision,” the foreign ministry told reporters.
