The U.S. Army has awarded Boeing (NYSE: BA) a contract to deliver the latest version of the company's AH-64 Apache combat helicopter to the Moroccan government.

Boeing will provide 24 AH-64E helicopters fitted with an open-systems framework as well as updated fire control radars, night-vision systems and target acquisition technologies as part of a foreign military sales transaction, the company said Thursday.

According to Boeing, the contract builds on the company's decades-long partnership with Morocco particularly on supply chain and workforce programs.

Jeff Shockey, vice president of global sales and marketing Boeing's defense, space and security segment and government services portfolio, said the agreement is “another step forward” for the company as it works to address worldwide demands for the Apache aircraft.

Boeing expects to begin deliveries of the attack helicopter to Morocco in 2024.

To date, the company has supplied around 2.5K Apache units to 16 nations around the world.
