China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO)
and the Royal Thai Army (RTA) have signed an agreement to support defence trade
and related support, the Chinese group has announced.
In a press release on 27 April NORINCO said
that the agreement, which was signed in China, is aimed at “deepening
co-operation” on both existing and future defence programmes.
NORINCO said the accord provides assurances
to the RTA that the group will provide “high-quality products and after-sales
support” as it looks to expand its presence in the Thai defence market.
NORINCO has enjoyed considerable success in
the Thai market in the past two years and the new agreement is aimed at
supporting orders of new platforms.
