Navy's submarine-purchase plan to go ahead:
Royal Thai Navy's submarine purchase plan is on track following Cabinet's approval of its fiscal 2020 budget, said Commander in Chief Admiral Luechai Ruddit on Wednesday (Jan 15).
He said purchases of the Navy's second and third submarines were part of the strategic masterplan.
With regard to the submarine crews, Luechai said they would be sent for a two-year training course. The commander didn’t explain further but said they would become a special force.
