Moscow. August 10. INTERFAX-AVN - The Russian army will receive a batch of new T-14 Armata tanks this year, said Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko.

"This year, the troops will receive 20 newest T-14 Armata tanks," he said on Tuesday at a single day of acceptance of military products at the RF Ministry of Defense.

According to him, 65 new T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks will be delivered to the troops . the last modification of the main Russian battle tank T-90.

On March 4, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the delivery of an experimental-industrial batch of armored vehicles on the Armata platform to the troops is planned in 2022 - T-14 tanks, T-15 infantry fighting vehicles and of armored repair and recovery vehicles T-16

Head of the Rostec state corporation Sergey Chemezov and the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov previously announced the start of serial deliveries of armored vehicles to the army on the Armata platform in 2021.

In August 2018, Krivoruchko announced plans for serial deliveries by the end of 2021 of 132 vehicles - T-14 tanks and T-15 BMPs.

Earlier, Yuri Borisov, when he was Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation (now Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation), reported that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has a contract for the supply of two battalions of T-14 tanks and a battalion of BMP T-15 for military tests.

The T-14 is considered the only third post-war generation tank in the world. According to military experts, "Armata" is a new word in tank building and has no analogues in the world. This is a fundamentally new and completely Russian development. The T-14 tower is uninhabited. For the first time, the crew was placed in an armored capsule, separated from the ammunition load.

Equipment on the Armata platform is being tested and is participating in the Victory parades in Moscow.

The UVZ press service told Interfax that the T-14 Armata tank was tested in unmanned mode, but this combat vehicle was created for the crew.
