"Sukhoi" (included in the UAC) Sergei Bogdan. The flight duration was
17 minutes. "The flight was regular, in accordance with the conditions of
the flight assignment," the ministry said.
"A successful flight with a new engine gives an
additional impetus to the program of a fifth-generation fighter. This is a
testament to the high potential of Russian aircraft industry capable of

About PAK FA program
The perspective aviation complex of front-line aviation
(PAK FA, Su-57) is a multi-purpose fighter of the fifth generation designed to
destroy all types of air targets at long and short distances, to defeat the
enemy's ground and surface targets with overcoming its air defense systems. The
first departure of PAK FA took place on January 29, 2010 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
At present nine flight samples participate in the flight
tests. The first stage of state tests of the fifth generation aviation complex
is nearing completion.
To date, confirmed the stability and controllability of
this aircraft at subsonic and supersonic speeds, at low and high altitudes, at
supercritical angles of attack. On-board equipment and a complex of aviation
weapons are being tested. Also successful work was carried out on refueling in
flight and investigation of various aircraft configurations.
PAK FA has a number of unique features, combining the
functions of a strike aircraft and a fighter. It is equipped with a
fundamentally new complex of deeply integrated avionics, which has a high level
of control automation and intelligent crew support. The aircraft has a wide
range of weapons.
As previously reported, the Su-57 with a prospective
(main) engine will make its first flight in the fourth quarter of 2017. Now on
the Russian fifth-generation fighter there is the so-called first-stage engine
- 117C, the new engine has not yet received a name and is conditionally
designated as the "second-stage engine".
In August of this year it became known that the PAK FA
received the serial name (index) of the Su-57. Experimental design work should
be completed in 2019, then it is expected to begin deliveries of these aircraft
to the troops. The installation party, said the head of the United Aircraft
Corporation Yuri Slyusar, will consist of 12 cars

The new engine has a factory designation "Product 30". It has been developed in the Saturn NGO for almost 10 years. This long period explains that this is not a modernization of an existing engine but rather a new one. It uses completely new constructive solutions, some of which are unique, have no analogues in the world.
"Product 30" significantly outperforms the
AL-41F1 engine currently used on PAC FA. Its maximum unbalanced thrust is
11000kg vs. 8800kg at AL-41F1, and the forage - 19000kg against 15000kg. Source:
