KHABAROVSK, January 21. / TASS /. The Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant handed over to the Russian Armed Forces the first of the planned batch of the Su-57 fighter. This was reported on the website of the regional government on Thursday.

"Five multifunctional fighters of the fifth generation Su-57 will be handed over by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant to the Russian Armed Forces this year. The first aircraft assembled at the enterprise has already entered one of the aviation regiments of the Southern Military District," the statement says.

By the end of 2024, the Aerospace Forces will receive 22 fighters. In total, according to the state contract with the branch of the Sukhoi company KnAAZ named after Y. A. Gagarin, the delivery of 76 aircraft is envisaged until 2028. The contract for the production of a large batch of fighters by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin was signed during the Army-2018 forum ".

The Su-57, developed by Sukhoi, is the most advanced Russian military aircraft built on a completely new platform. It is a fifth generation multirole fighter designed to destroy all types of enemy ground, air and surface targets while penetrating air defense systems.
