According to spotters, on October 4, 2021, at the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny plant airfield complex, flight tests began on the Il-76MD military transport aircraft built at the Ulyanovsk Aviastar-SP JSC (part of the Transport Aviation Division of the United Aircraft Corporation JSC - UAC). 90A with serial number 0207 (registration number 78662). Earlier, September 8, 2021 in the 235th military transport aviation regiment of the 18th Military Transport Aviation Division Military Transport Aviation VKS Russia, based on the factory airfield JSC "Aviastar-SP" Ulyanovsk-Vostochny, was handed over to the first military transport Il-76MD-90A aircraft, built at Aviastar-SP in 2021 - aircraft with serial number 0206 (registration number RF-78661), which made its first flight in Ulyanovsk on June 10, 2021.

Work on the installation of the PLC-76 line at Aviastar-SP has been carried out since the fall of 2016 in a workshop with a length of 500 m and a width of 100 m. Constructive and technological development of the assembly of products at PLC-76 takes place on three production aircraft Il- 76MD-90A with serial numbers 0206, 0207 and 0208. Apparently, the aircraft with serial numbers 0208 will also be able to fly the aircraft by the end of 2021. It is assumed that the production line for the assembly of the PLC-76 in the future will be able to ensure the rate of construction of up to 12 Il-76MD-90A aircraft per year.

In general, the Il-76MD-90A aircraft that took off on October 4 with the serial number 0207 (registration number RF-78662) became the ninth plane built by Aviastar-SP JSC in Ulyanovsk under a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense dated October 2012 for the production of 39 Il -76MD-90A for the amount of 139.42 billion rubles.

The first Il-76MD-90A aircraft, for the Russian Ministry of Defense under a 2012 contract with serial number 0108 (registration number RF-78654), was built at Aviastar-SP more than four years ago and was first flown there on December 15, 2015. and on January 17, 2016 he entered the 610th Center for Combat Use and Retraining of Flight Personnel of Military Transport Aviation named after Air Marshal N.S. Skripko in Ivanovo.

The second and third Il-76MD-90A aircraft under the 2012 contract were built by Aviastar-SP in 2018 and handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense in the first half of 2019 - aircraft with serial numbers 0109 (registration number RF-78655, made the first flight in Ulyanovsk on November 7, 2018 and was transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces on April 2, 2019) and 0110 (registration number RF-78656, made its first flight on December 22, 2018, transferred to the Aerospace Forces on May 16, 2019). Both of these aircraft became part of the formedat the end of 2017 of the 235th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the 18th Military Transport Aviation Division of the Military Transport Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, based at the Aviastar-SP plant airfield in Ulyanovsk-Vostochny, becoming the first two Il-76MD-90A to arrive to the linear part of the Russian Aerospace Forces. On the same regiment I went then and only built in 2019 new aircraft Il-76MD-90A (fourth under the contract) - the side with the serial number 0202 (registration number RF-78657), raised in the air June 13, 2019 and transferred FSI Russia August 30, 2019.

In 2020, Aviastar-SP flew three new Il-76MD-90A aircraft (the fifth, sixth and seventh under this contract).On March 17, 2020, at the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny plant airfield complex , the Il-76MD-90A aircraft with serial number 0203 (registration number RF-78658, name "Genrikh Novozhilov") made its first flight, on August 26 - the second aircraft with serial number 0204 (registration number RF-78659, named Nikolay Makarovets in August 2021), and on December 6, 2020, the third aircraft with serial number 0205 (registration number RF-78660). All three of these aircraft were transferred to the Russian Ministry of Defense only on January 29, 2021, also becoming part of the 235th military transport aviation regiment.

Earlier, Aviastar-SP, under a contract dated November 2011, UAC - Transport Aircraft JSC built in 2014-2015 three Il-76MD-90A aircraft of the pilot batch with serial numbers 0103, 0104, 0105. The first two of them were transferred to PJSC The Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex (TANTK) to create special-purpose vehicles on their basis, and the aircraft with the serial number 0105 was also transferred to the 610th TsBPPLS VTA in Ivanovo on December 3, 2015.

In addition, the first prototype of the Il-78M-90A tanker aircraft (serial number 0201, registration number RF-78741), developed by Il PJSC on the basis of the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft, was also built at Aviastar-SP. and committedfirst flight in Ulyanovsk on January 19, 2018. However, after 11 months of improvements, only on December 27, 2018, the first prototype of the Il-78M-90A made its fourth test flight, officially credited as the first under the factory flight test program. This aircraft continues to be in the testing phase.

Thus, to date, the Aviastar-SP plant has built a total of 13 copies (including the prototype) of the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft and one prototype of the Il-78M-90A tanker aircraft.

In May 2020 it became knownthat the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on new terms, renegotiated a contract with Aviastar-SP JSC for the supply of Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft. Under the new conditions, under the old contract in 2012, the plant will now commission a total of 13 Il-76MD-90A aircraft, and from 2021 a new contract for the supply of 14 such aircraft until 2028 will enter into force.
