Saab explores options for EEC projects

Saab Automobile AB, the Swedish maker of automobiles and fighter jets, yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with SET-listed Amata Corporation Plc, Thailand's largest industrial estate operator, on development of smart cities and aerospace cities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Hakan Buskhe, Saab's chief executive and president, said at the signing ceremony that the partnership is part of Thailand's ambitious plan to become an aviation hub for Asean.

"Saab is pleased that Amata chose us as a partner for the smart city and aerospace city concepts," he said. "Through this agreement, Saab can directly contribute to the progress of Thailand 4.0."
