The Aerospace Forces will receive four fifth-generation Su-57 fighters in December, a source said.
MOSCOW, November 12 - RIA Novosti. The Aerospace Forces ( VKS ) will soon receive new serial fifth-generation fighters, a source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti.
"In December, four production Su-57 fighters are to be transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces from the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant," he said.
Now at the V.P. Chkalov State Flight Test Center, tests of the first serial Su-57 , which the army received in November last year, are continuing . With the delivery of a new batch, the number of such aircraft in the Armed Forces will reach five.
The Su-57 is a fifth-generation Russian multifunctional fighter developed by Sukhoi. The vehicle is designed to destroy all types of air, ground and surface targets. It has a supersonic cruising flight speed, in-body armament, a radio-absorbing coating, as well as a state-of-the-art complex of onboard equipment.
By the end of 2024, the Aerospace Forces should receive 22 Su-57s; by 2028, their number in the troops is planned to be increased to 76.
