MOSCOW, February 24. / TASS /. Comparing the fifth generation Su-57 fighter with the previous generation aircraft is like comparing a modern smartphone with a push-button telephone. This was announced by Vladimir Volotskov, 1st class test pilot of the State Flight Test Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense named after V.P. Chkalov.
“If we compare it with the aircraft of the previous generation, then compared to the Su-57 aircraft, it’s like comparing a push-button telephone and a modern smartphone,” the pilot said on the air of Channel One .
According to Volotskov, the Su-57, unlike the aircraft of the previous generation, is much smarter, provides more assistance to the pilot, and "forgives piloting mistakes much more."
The fifth generation fighter Su-57 is designed to destroy all types of air, ground and surface targets. The aircraft has a supersonic cruising speed, in-body armament, a radio-absorbing coating (stealth technology), as well as the latest complex of onboard equipment.
