Thailand and Russia have signed an agreement to
facilitate military-technology collaboration, military sources in Bangkok have
confirmed to Jane’s .
The memorandum of agreement (MOA) on military-technical
co-operation was signed on 13 September in Bangkok between Mikhail Petukhov,
the deputy director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical
Cooperation, and Vice Admiral Tiwa Daramuang, director of the Joint Logistics unit
of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters.
The Russian embassy in Bangkok and the Royal Thai Armed
Forces have provided no details on the agreement, although Jane’s understands
that the MOA is intended to provide a framework for a range of joint activities.
