Produced through entirely domestic means by ASELSAN, the remote-controlled, stabilized weapon system Nefer is set for export soon. The first of its kind to hit the weapons market and known for its light-weight, low-silhouette features, the Turkish remote-controlled, stabilized weapon system Nefer is in high demand from many countries worldwide, and firing tests will be carried out for two different customers prior to the signing of contractual agreements this year, according to reports.

One of the leading companies in the Turkish defense industry ASELSAN develops and manufactures weapon systems that are entirely produced domestically and can be used on various platforms. The Nefer weapon system offers a unique system design and integrative approach along with logistic support.

One of the latest products borne from ASELSAN's efforts is the 25/30-millimeter Nefer weapon system. Developed with the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in mind, Nefer provides effective service to tracked and wheeled armored vehicles. Following ASELSAN's completion of the usage qualification steps, Nefer is now ready to undergo serial production amid efforts to respond quickly to future orders.

Developed by ASELSAN, Nefer is an ideal choice for countries that have both NATO and Russian-procured cannons in their inventory. The weapon system, which can be equipped with western or eastern origin 25/30-millimeter automatic cannons and anti-tank missiles and is fitted with independent electro-optic and 7.62 millimeter, co-axial weapons, was developed and manufactured entirely via domestic facilities.

Like other products within the family of remote-controlled weapon systems, Nefer has received widespread interest abroad. Amid demands for the system from the Gulf region and Asia, firing tests will be carried out with two different customers this year, prior to the signing of contractual agreements. Currently, ASELSAN's remote-controlled weapon systems are deployed in 14 different countries worldwide on more than 40 different vehicles in more than 2,000 locations where 10,000 different types of ammunition are fired. Nefer, the newest member of the family of remote-controlled weapon systems, is prepared to serve friendly nations.
