Moscow. 12 June. Interfax-AVN - The Russian ground forces will receive more than 170 modern tanks during the year, including the T-90M Proryv, the latest modification of the T-90 main battle tank, the Russian Defense Ministry's Department of Information and Mass Communications (DIMK) said.

    The T-72B3M is one of the new products that was demonstrated in 2018 at the military-technical forum "Army." This is a deeply modernized version of the T-72 main battle tank. The 72B3M is equipped with a new 1130 hp diesel engine, additional protection for the turret, side projections and bottom, modern day-to-day fire control systems, digital communications and a number of other new systems.

     The upgraded T-80BVM tank is equipped with a multi-channel gunner's sight, a 125-mm cannon, a modified gas turbine engine with a capacity of up to 1250 horsepower, a weapon stabilizer and a driver's observation device. To protect against enemy fire, the tank is equipped with anti-cumulative lattice screens and a complex of modular dynamic protection. The chassis has been improved. Tanks T-80BVM are adapted for operations in low temperatures.

     The T-90M Breakthrough is the latest modification of the T-90 main battle tank. The T-90M, in particular, has a new turret module and a highly automated digital fire control system. It was reported that the tank was equipped with climate control.

     On February 23, the Uralvagonzavod concern (UVZ, Rostec) informed Interfax about the start of serial deliveries of T-90M to the Russian military. "These are long-term contracts for a large number of cars," the UVZ said at the time.

    Russia ranked first in the world in terms of the number of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and multiple launch rocket systems, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov said in September 2017.
