MOSCOW, May 26. / TASS /. The Kalashnikov group of companies (GC) (part of the Rostec state corporation) has completed flight tests of the Vikhr anti-tank guided missile with improved characteristics. This was reported to journalists on Wednesday in the press service of Kalashnikov.

The Kalashnikov Group of Companies together with the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense, KBP JSC, and NTsV Mil and Kamov JSC have successfully completed flight tests of Vikhr guided missiles. During the tests, 22 missiles were launched from the Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopter. " The alligator is "at the training ground of the Russian Defense Ministry," the press service informed.

As noted in "Kalashnikov", as a result of the revision "the probability of hitting a target was increased during short-range launches, and stability in flight was increased." "All these qualitative changes were achieved without changing the performance characteristics of the rocket. Work on improving the rocket was carried out on an initiative basis. Type tests confirmed the effectiveness of the modifications," added the Civil Code.

Earlier, work was also successfully carried out to assess the possibility of hitting targets at ranges of up to 10 kilometers, which significantly exceeds the characteristics specified in the development of the missile.

The Whirlwind anti-tank missile is part of the armament of the Ka-52 helicopter. Its maximum range of application is 10 km, the speed is over 600 m / s. The tandem cumulative warhead of the missile is capable of penetrating 750 mm of homogeneous armor behind ERA. The Whirlwind is considered one of the most effective anti-tank weapons in the world.
