A Russian AWACS A-50 aircraft was attacked over Syria, and Turkish air defense could be used for these purposes.
Earlier, the media received information that on June 2, 2021, jihadists attacked a Russian military aircraft of early warning A-50. It was reported that a portable anti-aircraft missile system was used for the attack, reports Avia.pro .
But experts are still inclined to believe that the attack could have been carried out only with the use of Turkish air defense and radar systems. The South Front edition notes that this attack could have been carried out from the territory of the Syrian province of Idlib.
Given that the jihadists have a small number of MANPADS, they could only decide to attack the A-50 if they knew the route of the flight. And this may indirectly indicate the help of the Turkish military, who could have used radar equipment to track a Russian military aircraft.
Therefore, experts suggest that the S-400 air defense systems, which Turkey, by the way, acquired from Russia, can be used to "monitor" Russian aviation in Syria.
