The project 20386 Mercury corvette under construction in St. Petersburg will be the first ship in the Russian navy to be built entirely using stealth technology. It is planned that the ship, imperceptible to radars, will enter the Navy in 2022.

According to RIA Novosti , within the framework of the stealth concept, the superstructure of the corvette will have a special shape, where the number of protruding elements will be reduced to a minimum. During the construction of the building, various composite materials and special radio-absorbing paints will be used. As a result, the 100-meter Mercury missile should be visible on enemy radars like a small boat. According to the newspaper, the ship's hull is already fully completed.

Recall that the construction of the lead ship of project 20386 began on October 28, 2016. By order of the commander-in-chief of the fleet, Admiral Vladimir Korolev, the corvette was named "Daring" , but three years later it was renamed "Mercury".

The ship's displacement is 3.4 thousand tons, length - 109 meters, width - 13 meters, speed - up to 30 knots, cruising range - five thousand nautical miles, crew - 80 people. It is assumed that the corvette will be armed with a 100-mm artillery mount A-190, two 30-mm gun mounts AK-630M, anti-aircraft missile system "Redut", anti-submarine torpedoes "Packet-NK" and anti-ship cruise missiles "Caliber". The ship will also be able to carry drones.
