Mexico intends to use the ship-based technologies to
enhance the country’s maritime capabilities and align its systems with existing
regional navies.
Furthermore, the defence articles and services will help
the nation upgrade its armed forces and expand its existing naval and maritime
support of national security requirements, as well as its efforts to combat
criminal organisations.
The weapon systems are expected to be deployed on the
Mexican Navy’s Sigma 10514-class vessel in order to improve its ability to
effectively defend critical sea lanes.
