At the current exhibition in Bangalore, the Russian delegation reached the first agreements with partners, the Interfax news agency reports. The agreement is preliminary in nature, but it has every opportunity to develop into a full-fledged contract.

According to correspondents, the Russians and Indians had previously discussed the joint production of the Russian light aircraft MiG-35. At the same time, the joint promotion in the tender announced by the Indian Ministry of Defense for the use of one hundred and ten fighters in the Indian Air Force was also considered.

Exhibition start

According to Vladimir Drozhzhov, Deputy Director of the Russian Military Cooperation Service, the discussion took place with the heads of the Indian industrial association HAL, which produces aircraft, helicopters, power plants and spare parts, and is located in the city of Bangalore, where the exhibition is being held.

As noted by Drozhzhov, in 2019, at the MAKS air show, the Indians had already received an offer from Rosoboronexport to produce MiG-35 aircraft for India and even allowed Indian aviators to make introductory "tests" in the air on fighters. Representatives of the Indian delegation then assured them that they would definitely include the Russian fighter in the list of participants. And now, two years later, participation in the tender is getting closer, but the “interested” Indian side comes to the rescue.

All the conditions of the future tender were known in advance. The Indian Ministry of Defense plans to purchase one hundred and ten aircraft. Seventeen of them should be ready for immediate use. The rest will be collected by the main Indian partner for licensing documents. The cost of this tender is considered at around eighteen billion dollars. Representatives of the American F-16 and F / A-18 fighters, the European joint fighter Eurofighter Tuphoon, the "French" Rafale and the "Swede" Gripen E.

MiG-35

The MiG-35 is known for being a multipurpose vehicle that continues the development of the MiG-29. According to the manufacturer of the fighter, the device can simultaneously track up to thirty targets within one hundred and sixty kilometers in radius and "capture" six objects in the air and four objects on the ground for further destruction.

In the air...

The aircraft's arsenal of weapons includes extended-range weapons, up to long-range missiles, used to defeat the enemy without entering the zone of influence of the enemy's air defense.
