Honda Aircraft received Transport Canada
validation for its HondaJet on June 1, clearing the way for
Canadian-registration deliveries. Canada becomes the fourth approval for the
aircraft, which was granted U.S. certification in late 2015 and later validated
in Europe and Mexico.
Honda Aircraft called the approval a key nod
as it ramps up production for the light jet. “With multiple orders in the
pipeline, achieving this important milestone will now allow us to begin
HondaJet deliveries to our Canadian registration customers,” said Honda
Aircraft president and CEO Michimasa Fujino. Skyservice Business Aviation will
provide sales, service and support for HondaJets in Canada. The company has
facilities in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Ottawa.
“Honda has a strong reputation in Canada,”
added Marshall Myles, chairman and CEO for Skyservice, noting the aircraft’s
performance and fuel efficiency “further builds on that positive brand image.”
