The fuselage of the second experimental light military transport aircraft Il-112V was delivered to the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.Ye. Zhukovsky (TsAGI) for life tests, which will last about 2 years, reported the press service of the Aviation Complex. S.V. Ilyushin.

"In the hall of static and resource tests of the institute, where Il-112B was delivered, the specialists of Ilyushin and TsAGI will have to complete the assembly of the airframe, after that, preparation for the isolated tests of individual units and full-fledged static-resource studies will begin," the press service said.

The next step will be testing the entire airframe. The aircraft will be installed on a special stand, on which the loads characteristic of all flight modes will be simulated.

"Tests are conducted at TsAGI to confirm the design decisions in terms of static and fatigue strength. During the planned research, the aircraft will undergo repeated loads simulating at least 5000 flights. The experiments will last about two years," Ilyushin specified.

The aircraft must replace the aging An-26 fleet, whose designated service life is expiring. 50% of the park will be out of service by 2030, and 90% by 2032.

To date, the first aircraft IL-112V (0101) transferred to the flight test station of PJSC "VASO". The aircraft conducts a complex of airfield mining, the results of which will give an opinion on the readiness of the Il-112B for the first flight. It is expected that this will happen at the end of January 2019.
